About the Driving Instructor
The school’s driving instructor, Paul Makinson has over 20 years of experience teaching provisional licence holders how to drive and is a very friendly, reliable and trustworthy instructor. Paul knows that learning to drive can be a very anxious experience to some individuals. During your driving lessons you will find that Paul creates a very relaxing and calm environment that will let you focus and enjoy learning to drive.

Driving Lessons
If you’ve just got your provisional license then driving lessons are perfect for you.
You will learn to drive starting with the basics and then further developing your driving skills up until you pass your driving test.
Pass Plus Courses
Pass Plus is a driving course aimed at newly passed drivers who want to improve their driving skills and drive more safely.
During the course, which takes 6 hours minimum, you will learn: Town driving, all weather driving, rural driving, night driving, dual carriageway driving and motorway driving.
Refresher Lessons
Refresher lessons are great if you haven’t driven in a while or would just like to improve your driving in certain areas.
Refresher lessons are recommended for drivers who might have passed their driving test but not driven for a number of years.
Discounts On Block Bookings!
Discounts are available for block bookings of 10 or more lessons.
Block booking is a great way to save money and also shows that you are committed about learning to drive.
About the Car
The car Makinson School of Motoring uses is a white & red 2018 Citroen C3 Flair Puretech 1.2, the seat and steering wheel are easily adjustable to allow you to drive in a comfortable position. The car also comes with air-conditioning to keep you cool and relaxed during the summer months.
Key Things To Note Before / Whilst Driving
Provisional Driving Licence
Before learning to drive you will need to be 17 years old and have a provisional driving license. If you do not have a provisional driving licence then you can get one here:
Theory Test
During your driving lessons you are advised to book your theory test as soon a possible. You cannot go for your driving test until you pass your theory test. View Our Theory Test Help Guide
Driving Test
Once you have passed the theory test and Paul is happy with the standard of your driving he will discuss how to book your test.
