Driving Test
What happens during your driving test?
The Practical driving test is made up of 5 parts:
An eyesight check
Vehicle safety questions
General driving ability
Reversing your vehicle
Independent driving
The test is the same for both manual and automatic cars.
How long does the test last?
The test only lasts for around 40 minutes.
Before your test you will have a 1 hour driving lesson with Paul going over all of the key parts of driving and any area you feel that you would like to refresh.
Show me, tell me questions
The examiner will ask you one:
‘tell me’ question (where you explain how you’d carry out a safety task) at the start of your test, before you start driving
‘show me’ question (where you show how you’d carry out a safety task) while you’re driving
